Street Style Battle: Urban Chic Looks For the New Season

  • v/s"
How will you be styling your hair this season?

After plenty of anticipation, AW18 is finally upon us and when it comes to keeping up to date with the very best in cut, colour and styles, we've got you covered. Which of these two street style looks have the potential to make it into your new season wardrobe?

Pastel Pixie

The look: Pastel hair has transitioned into the autumn and we're loving how this fashionista has teamed up her colourful hair with a bold short haircut. Classy, yet cool, here's evidence that urban wear can and does go hand in hand with high fashion.

Achieve it: The platinum shaved head reigned supreme over the summer, but this autumn is all about keeping things cute, cropped and shaggy with a side-swept pixie cut. Add texture to your messy pixie by applying a coin-sized amount of styling wax to your hair while it's still damp and allow to dry naturally. When it comes to the colour, an electric blue hue will give your locks a burst of vibrancy as we transition into the colder months.

A note from the editor: Keep it high fashion and popping by coordinating your blue locks with a bright and bold red lip. This season is all about contrasting textures, so think bold prints against block colours, PVC teamed up with tassels and fur.

Platinum boxer braids:

The look: Another short and bold look for the new season, boxer braids are the perfect up-do for sporty girls who'd choose trainers over heels any day. Platinum blonde has transitioned over from the summer, this time with effortless-looking visible roots, which contrast with the paler highlights in the twists of the braids.

Achieve it: Boxer braids are more easily styled on long hair, but that doesn't mean you can't braid your bob into this look. Keep your boxer braids from loosening out by braiding thinner strands of hair into tighter braids. When it comes to the colour, consider speaking to your stylist about pre and post colour treatments to ensure your locks look healthy and strong in the long run.

A note from the editor: This season's urban chic look is all about keeping things relaxed and retro with 80s throwback sports gear. Think cropped mom jeans worn with socks and white trainers. Contrast your sporty outfit with a feminine handbag.
